Introduction
This calculator can be used to determine the appropriate dose of Acetaminophen/Paracetamol (Tylenol) to give your child by mouth for fever or pain. The calculation is 15 milligrams (mg) of Acetaminophen per 1 kilogram of your child's weight for one dose to a maximum of 650 milligrams (mg) per dose.
You can give your child a dose of Acetaminophen/Paracetamol every 4 hours to a maximum of 5 doses per day.
Make sure that the concentration (e.g. 160 mg/chewable tablet or 160 mg/5 mL of liquid Children's Acetaminophen) of the medicine indicated in the calculator matches the concentration of the medicine you will give to your child.
